The Stale Breadbug is a mutated form of the Breadbug. Its body is pale and shriveled up, with mushrooms growing on its back, and its eyes are red. It has a large mouth full of sharp teeth, and it eats enemy carcasses. It'll eat Pikmin as well if given the chance, so be careful. It lacks the thick skin of the normal Breadbug and can be attacked normally.
They're mostly the same but many have been fitted with cyborg armor and respiratory devices by the Z Syndicate so they're a bit more dangerous.
Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs
|Scientific Name||Pansarus Carcinuli|
|Areas|| Land of Wonders, in any Territory once the Hidden Territory is found|
|Carry Weight|| 7|
|Max. Carriers|| 14 Pikmin|
|Seed Worth|| 10|
|Attacks||Drags objects, eats Pikmin|
Stale Breadbugs make a reappearance in Pikmin: Attack of the Breadbugs. Stale Breadbugs are hybrids of an average Breadbug and a Brown Sugar Breadbug. They drag objects to their dens, but have the tough exterior of a Brown Sugar Breadbug. Stale Breadbugs can only be found after the Hidden Territory is discovered. After that event occurs, Stale Breadbugs will begin to spawn along with normal Breadbugs in all Territories. Stale Breadbugs can be told apart from an ordinary Breadbug because their roll seems darker and cracked. Stale Breadbugs can be defeated in the same manner as Brown Sugar Breadbugs. Red Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, Cyan Pikmin, and White Pikmin can break its shell in one hit and Purple Pikmin can break both a Stale Breadbug's shell and deplete one eighth of its health. Stale Breadbugs regain their rolls if they successfully manage to bring an object into their dens. Captain Olimar can assist in carrying the corpse of a deceased Stale Breadbug to the Onion.
