The Balden Snagret is the fifth boss in Pikmin 4: The World to Free, and is the last orb guardian. It has all the might to take down any opposing force. As it it is fought, a lily pad must be ridden while avoiding its attacks. Tike then climbs a tree as he calls Alice for help. He tells her to send in an escape pod for both of them. Once Tike climbs to the top the tree, Alice swoops down in her escape pod to pick up Tike. During the beginning of the battle, the Balden Snagret attempts to fly up to and attack the escape pod. Multitasking must be put into use during this moment: avoid its attacks and charge a shot to attack the bird using the cannon attached to the escape pod. Once it shot, the Balden Snagret will fall and land in a location that was once visited, usually the Pikmin's previous Onion location before finding Green Pikmin. Once some damage is done to the beast, the Balden Snagret will rise back up and start to obliterate everything in sight. Once it reaches two thirds of its health, the orb will activate, giving the Balden Snagret elemental powers. It will turn itself to the color of the element it is currently using and shock, drown, or burn Pikmin in its way.
The Balden Snagret cannot die unless it is in the Blooming Oak.
"This creature symbolizes something I can't explain. The Snagret also has wings, and can use them quite well to the point that it reached our escape pod distances away. This place has odd Snagrets... this one also managed to use the soul orb's power to gain elemental powers to use against us. This creature was quite the fighter, that's for sure!"
"Such bravery, power, and such determination! Once we bothered this thing, it never looked away from us. This thing also has quite the temper, destroying everything in its path just because we needed to support ourselves. Its not my fault that we had stuff to do in that nest! I mean... survival's kind of nice, right?"
