Family Flint Beetle
Areas Volcanic Wastes
Underground Areas Petrified Arbor, Scorch Cavern, Challenger's Cavern
Attacks Leaves behind black nectar and fire

Ashcrabs are subterranean creatures that feed mainly on ash, soot and burnt material. They are normally docile except for when being threatened, in which it will emerge from the ground and leave behind fire and Black Nectar in an effort to flee. They resemble Iridescent Flint Beetles, but with a black body striped with orange, and orange legs and antennae. The first hit leaves behind a random dose of spray, the second leaves behind five doses of random spray, and the third hit shoots Black Nectar in all directions at your Pikmin.

In Pikmin: Connection of the Worlds[edit]

In Pikmin: Connection of the Worlds, this variation of Flint Beetle is slightly different than its counterpart in Pikspore. First off, it cannot produce black nectar as it does not exist in this game. Its body is also covered in flames, similar to a Fiery Bulblax. The first time it's hit, it will either leave behind a 5 Pellet when above ground, or three doses of nectar when underground. The second hit leaves behind a random spray, a third hit will leave behind two sprays, and a fourth hit will enrage it. If you can manage to hit it a fifth time, it will leave behind a 10 Pellet when above ground or three sprays when underground and will go back under the ground. This creature is also relatively rare, as it is only found in volcanic regions.
